How G-Tech Medical handles your information.
Who this policy covers
G-Tech Medical, Inc. is a medical device company in Mountain View, California. This policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit this website, contact us by phone, email or text message, or use the GutTracker system and its support services.
Information we collect
We collect information you provide to us directly, including your name, email address, telephone number, shipping information, and the content of your communications with our team. Where you are a patient using GutTracker under a physician's order, we also receive the recordings produced by the device and any diary entries you submit through the companion app, together with the clinical information the ordering practice supplies with the order.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, more personal or health information than a question requires. Do not include clinical detail in a text message.
What this website does not collect
Stated separately because the distinction matters, and because the answer for the website is not the answer for the service.
This website collects nothing about you. It sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising tags, and no third-party scripts of any kind. Fonts and images are served from this site's own servers, so loading a page here discloses your visit to no one but us. There is no account to create and no login. The contact form on this site is inactive and transmits nothing; the email addresses published on every page are the working contact route.
No protected health information reaches us through this website. There is no path by which a page here can carry clinical data. Do not send clinical detail by email or text message either: those channels are not built for it, and we do not want it.
We never sell or rent personal information, do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, do not supply it to data brokers, and do not build advertising profiles. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
What is different about the GutTracker service. G-Tech does receive protected health information in connection with a study, because that is what analyzing a recording requires. That information reaches us from the ordering practice and from the device, never from this website, and it is handled under the Business Associate Agreement with that practice and under the HIPAA Security Rule. The section on health information and HIPAA below describes that posture.
How we use information
We use information to respond to inquiries and provide support, to support patients and clinical sites using the GutTracker system, to coordinate shipments and device logistics, to provide device setup assistance and troubleshooting, to analyze a recording and return a report to the ordering clinician, to improve our products and services, and to meet applicable legal and regulatory obligations, including our obligations as a medical device manufacturer.
Text messaging: consent, message types, and opt-out
Who the program serves. Our text messaging line at (650) 960-7519 serves GutTracker patients and clinical sites only. It is a conversational support line, not a marketing channel.
How you opt in. You opt in by starting a text message conversation with G-Tech Medical at (650) 960-7519 about your use of the GutTracker system. By starting that conversation, you agree to receive SMS messages related to your inquiry and your use of the system. We do not add anyone to a messaging list, and we do not text a number that has not first texted us.
What we send. Device setup assistance, patch placement guidance, Bluetooth and app troubleshooting, device status questions, shipment coordination, scheduling support, and replies to patient and clinical site inquiries. We do not send unsolicited marketing or promotional text messages.
Message frequency. Message frequency varies with the nature of your conversation with us.
Message and data rates. Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's rates apply to messages you send and receive.
How to opt out. Reply STOP to any message from us at any time and we will stop sending you text messages. You can still reach us by phone or email.
How to get help. Reply HELP to any message, call (650) 960-7519, or email info@gtechhealth.com.
Carriers. Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Information sharing
G-Tech Medical does not sell or rent your personal information.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, and they are excluded from every category of information sharing described below.
We share information only in these circumstances: with service providers who process information on our behalf under contract and only for the purposes we specify, such as shipping, hosting, and telecommunications; with the ordering clinician and practice, where a report or a patient's study is involved; with regulators, including the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, where a report about a device is required; and where compelled by law or legal process. Service providers who handle protected health information do so under a Business Associate Agreement.
Health information and HIPAA
G-Tech Medical is generally a business associate of the ordering practice rather than a covered entity. Protected health information we receive in connection with a study is handled under the Business Associate Agreement with that practice and under the HIPAA Security Rule. If you are a patient and you want to see, correct, or restrict the use of your health record, the request goes to the practice that ordered your study, because that record is theirs. Tell us and we will help you reach them.
Information you volunteer to us outside of a study, such as an email or text asking a general question, is not part of a clinical record and is handled under this policy.
Cookies and website analytics
This website sets no cookies, runs no analytics, loads no tracking pixels, and includes no third-party scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site's own servers, so visiting a page here does not disclose your visit to any third party. Our web host records standard server request logs, including IP address and browser type, for security and reliability. You can also disable cookies in your browser settings.
Data security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege access to clinical systems. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we do not claim otherwise. If you believe your information has been exposed, contact us at info@gtechhealth.com.
How long we keep information
Records connected to a medical device, including study data and complaint records, are retained for the periods required by FDA regulation and by our agreements with ordering practices. Support correspondence, including text message threads, is retained only as long as needed to resolve the matter and to meet those obligations. Ask us and we will tell you what we hold.
Your choices and your rights
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it, and opt out of any communication channel at any time. Residents of California, and of other states with comprehensive privacy laws, have these rights by statute, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Send requests to info@gtechhealth.com or call (650) 960-7519.
Children's privacy
This website and our support services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through them. Where a pediatric patient is studied under a physician's order, that information reaches us through the ordering practice with the consent of a parent or guardian, and is handled as protected health information.
Third-party links
This site links to other organizations, including the FDA, the National Library of Medicine, and journal publishers. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their privacy practices or their content.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. The effective date of this version is 2026-09-01.
